Areas of responsibility
Peter is Manager in DIBD and currently heads DI's Business Enabling Environment unit. His primary work field is initiation, design and overseeing of the execution of the capacity building projects that DI has with its sister organisations. Because of his past experience from an emerging market, and also a rich understanding of strategy development, he frequently consults on projects related to business and strategy development.
Competences and experience
Prior to joining DIBD, Peter worked for the Danish Embassy in Prague for three years. Working for the Embassy, he assisted a large range of small and medium sized Danish companies navigate around the, at that time, numerous bureaucratic barriers to do business in the Czech Republic. Furthermore, Peter assisted a number of the larger +5 Danish companies assess the possibilities for investing in the Czech Republic. At the start of 2001 Peter decided to join DIBD.
Over the years, Peter has been exposed to a number of different parts of DIBD. He has assisted numerous companies establish partnerships in several Central and Eastern European countries, co-written several articles and one book on outsourcing, and he was expatriated for a period to the Uganda Manufacturer's Association in Kampala, Uganda, and the International Finance Cooperation field office in Karachi, Pakistan. In addition, he has managed donor financed private sector development projects around the world, prepared several manuals on advocacy and service development in business membership organisations, and lectures regularly to local business membership organisations and staff on the benefits of strong private sector organisations.
